Emma Raducanu, Sonay Kartal and Maya Joint withdrew from the Miami Open before main-draw play. Raducanu cited illness, while Kartal and Joint reported lower-back injuries, creating three places for qualifiers or lucky losers and changing the tournament’s seeded positions.

Raducanu, ranked twenty-third, had received a second-round bye after reaching the Cluj-Napoca final earlier in the season. Kartal’s back problem had already ended her Indian Wells fourth-round match against Elena Rybakina following victories over Emma Navarro and Madison Keys.

Joint entered the withdrawal announcement after six consecutive defeats dating to Adelaide in January. With the three players absent, Maria Sakkari and Jaqueline Cristian became seeds. The revised Miami field still included the entire top ten and defending champion Aryna Sabalenka.
