Raimund takes maiden World Cup victory in Lahti
Prevc’s equipment disqualification changed the winner, while Zografski claimed his first podium.
Source publication date:
Philipp Raimund won his first World Cup competition in Lahti after Domen Prevc was disqualified during technical checks. Prevc’s skis exceeded the permitted length by one centimetre, removing the Slovenian’s 129-metre jump from the one-round event’s final classification.
Raimund finished with 129.3 points, ahead of Austria’s Daniel Tschofenig on 128.6. Bulgaria’s Vladimir Zografski took third with 127.2 points for his first World Cup podium, giving the revised result two important career milestones among its leading finishers.
Despite the disqualification, Prevc secured the overall Crystal Globe because closest challenger Ryoyu Kobayashi finished sixth. The remaining 721-point advantage was unassailable with seven competitions left, allowing the Slovenian to claim the season title on a difficult individual competition day.
