Rashford and Schertenleib visit Barcelona’s American academy group

Ninety-five boys and girls from Barca Academy Pro New York and the TriState summer programme attended a clinic at Barcelona’s Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. The training visit began on 15 February and was scheduled to continue until the 23rd.

First-team players Marcus Rashford and Sydney Schertenleib surprised the group with a visit. Rashford answered questions, signed shirts and posed for photographs, while Schertenleib met the participants, including fifteen girls who were taking part in the week’s football programme.

Club coaches led sessions designed to improve the visitors’ technical skills. The programme also included matches against Catalan youth teams and cultural visits for players and relatives, extending the experience beyond their work on the pitch.
