Records continue on the second day of England’s youth indoor championships
Shaikira King and Sophie Thomas were among the title winners in Sheffield.

England’s under-fifteen, under-seventeen and under-twenty indoor championships concluded with further records and closely contested finals in Sheffield. Shaikira King defended her under-twenty 800-metre title in 2:03.99, a championship best and qualifying performance for the summer’s World Under-Twenty Championships.
Sophie Thomas added the 200-metre title to her previous day’s sprint victory, running 23.28 to establish another Scottish record. Thea Brown won the under-twenty 60-metre hurdles in 8.22, while Logan Cowling’s 16.61-metre shot secured the under-fifteen boys’ title with a substantial personal best.
Emmanuel Ofori-Manteaw completed a sprint double with 23.15 in the under-fifteen 200 metres. British age-group records and further championship bests featured across the day, with Scottish and Welsh records also falling as competitors completed the final events of the national indoor meeting.
