Rothschopf and Pfund earn first IBU Cup victories
Both athletes moved up from outside the sprint podium to win Sjusjøen pursuits.

Lea Rothschopf and Leonhard Pfund claimed their first individual IBU Cup victories in the pursuits at Sjusjøen. Austria’s Rothschopf started fourth and hit eighteen of twenty targets to win the women’s race in 31:31.5, taking control at the final shooting visit.
Sweden’s Emma Nilsson hit every target and climbed from thirteenth to second, 10.2 seconds behind. Sophie Chauveau finished third. Paula Botet remained the women’s overall standings leader with 944 points, ahead of Chauveau on 875.
Pfund climbed from ninth to win the men’s race in 32:11.1 with one miss. Teammates Simon Kaiser and Roman Rees completed a German podium sweep, finishing 4.9 and 6.3 seconds behind respectively. Gaetan Paturel retained the overall lead by two points.
