Ruzic and Svitolina advance to Dubai quarterfinal clash
Rybakina retired in the deciding set while Svitolina recovered against Belinda Bencic.

Antonia Ruzic reached her first WTA 1000 quarterfinal after Elena Rybakina retired during their Dubai third-round match. The lucky loser had lost the opening set 7–5 but won the second 6–4, then broke in the first game of the decider before Rybakina stopped with gastrointestinal problems.
Ruzic had entered the main draw despite losing in the opening qualifying round. Victories over Emma Raducanu and Anastasia Zakharova preceded her first win against a top-twenty opponent.
Elina Svitolina advanced to face Ruzic by defeating Belinda Bencic 4–6, 6–1, 6–3. The Ukrainian recovered after dropping the opening set and extended her winning sequence against Bencic to four consecutive matches.
