Source publication date:
Antonia Ruzic discussed her gradual development and childhood karate success in a WTA interview during Dubai. The Croatian had won national karate championships twice before choosing tennis, the sport she had started first and ultimately preferred pursuing competitively.
Her tennis progress included a quarterfinal on her tour debut in Monastir in 2024, entry into the top hundred in June 2025 and a first tour semifinal in Hobart during January. She described entering WTA 1000 qualifying events as a way to learn unfamiliar facilities and opponents.
