Source publication date:
Elena Rybakina defeated Elina Svitolina 7–5, 6–4 to reach her second Indian Wells final. The one-hour-forty-six-minute semifinal extended her winning streak against top-ten opponents to twelve matches, a sequence that began in Ningbo during the previous October.
Rybakina recovered from an early 2–0 deficit and eventually broke during a five-deuce game at 5–5. She won nineteen of twenty-one first-serve points in the opener, then established a 5–1 lead in the second before Svitolina mounted a late recovery.
The Ukrainian saved two match points and closed to 5–4, requiring Rybakina to serve for victory again. She converted her third opportunity to set a final against Aryna Sabalenka, joining four other women this century with at least twelve consecutive top-ten wins.
