Sabalenka and Anisimova receive Laureus award nominations
The tennis players were shortlisted in Sportswoman and Comeback categories.

Aryna Sabalenka and Amanda Anisimova were nominated for the Laureus World Sports Awards, scheduled for 20 April in Madrid. Sabalenka entered the Sportswoman of the Year shortlist, while Anisimova was nominated for Comeback of the Year following her return to elite-level results.
Sabalenka finished 2025 as world number one after leading the women’s tour with sixty-three match wins, nine finals and four titles. Her season included a fourth Grand Slam singles championship at the US Open and a record prize-money total exceeding fifteen million dollars.
Anisimova reached five finals, including Wimbledon and the US Open, and won her first two WTA 1000 titles in Doha and Beijing. She ended the season ranked fourth after a top-ten debut. The Laureus academy was to select winners from the announced shortlists.
