Sabalenka and Baptiste advance to a first Miami quarterfinal meeting

Aryna Sabalenka defeated Zheng Qinwen 6–3, 6–4 to reach the Miami Open quarterfinals. The eighty-five-minute match delivered her eighth win in nine meetings with Zheng and extended her sequence of consecutive WTA quarterfinal appearances to fifteen tournaments.
The defending champion survived three break points while leading 4–3 in the second set, winning five straight points to hold. She then closed with a love service game, setting up her first professional meeting with American Hailey Baptiste.
Baptiste beat Jelena Ostapenko 6–3, 6–4 in eighty-three minutes to make her first WTA 1000 quarterfinal. She struck eleven aces, saved nine break points and maintained a tournament run without losing a set across four victories over increasingly experienced opponents.
