The American defeated Nardine Garas in straight games for a seventh career trophy.
Source publication date:
Sabrina Sobhy won the Calgary Women’s Squash Week title by defeating Nardine Garas 3–0 in the final. The second seed prevailed 12–10, 11–4, 13–11 in thirty-three minutes, earning a seventh career championship and her second title of the season.
Sobhy had recovered from two games down against Jana Swaify in the semifinals. Garas reached the final by beating Georgia Adderley, reversing their result in the recent Richardson Wealth Women’s Open final. Their Calgary meeting therefore brought two successful comeback campaigns into the title match.
Garas led 9–7 in the opener before Sobhy won the tiebreak. The American controlled the second but faced another challenge in the third, where Garas led 9–6 and later held game ball. Sobhy recovered again and converted her second championship opportunity to finish the match.
