The Saudi archery federation appointed Lee Chang-Hwan as national recurve head coach. Lee was due to begin immediately, attending the Federation Cup in Riyadh and overseeing national selection trials before preparing athletes for the Asian Games.

The Korean won Olympic team gold in Beijing in 2008 and the individual world title in 2009. His competition record also includes world and Asian Games team victories. More recently, he worked with Korea’s youth national team and a professional domestic team.

Federation chief executive Abdullah Alnowaiser described the appointment as part of wider development plans. Technical director Robert Turner said Lee would also support the youth programme and help improve local coaches’ technical skills, alongside leading preparation of the national team.
