World Premier Squash appointed Saurav Ghosal as sports commissioner ahead of its first edition in August 2026. The former Indian top-ten player was given responsibility for the league’s competition format, player qualification pathways and officiating standards within its overall sporting framework.
Ghosal brought twenty years of elite experience, eleven titles and nine Asian Games medals. He had also served as PSA men’s president and co-chair of the joint PSA and World Squash athletes’ commission, providing governance experience for his new role in the competition.
The league planned twenty-four players including reserves, with eight established professionals and up to sixteen places available through AI-enabled challenges on the Future of Sports Platform. World Squash and PSA endorsed the new competition, which aimed to connect professional play with an open international qualification pathway.
