Hungary defeated Slovenia 1-0 at Puskás Aréna through substitute Szabolcs Schön’s late goal. Marco Rossi’s team created several second-half chances before the decisive finish, beginning its 2026 international programme with a victory in front of the Budapest crowd.

Slovenia had an early goal disallowed after a video review identified offside in the build-up. Hungary then increased its pressure after halftime, with goalkeeper Vekic saving important efforts and Balázs Tóth also denying a Slovenian counterattack at the other end.

Schön entered in the 77th minute and scored two minutes later after Attila Osváth’s delivery reached him in the area. Donát Bárány and Tamás Szűcs both made their debuts during the match. Hungary’s next friendly was against Greece at the same stadium.
