Simon leads French one-two in Olympic biathlon individual
The French skier recovered from an early penalty as Hristova earned bronze.

Julia Simon won the Olympic women’s fifteen-kilometre biathlon individual in 41:15.6, leading a French one-two ahead of Lou Jeanmonnot. Bulgaria’s Lora Hristova shot clean to win bronze, recording both her first senior podium and a career-best result.
Simon missed one target at the first standing stage and fell forty seconds behind before cleaning the remaining two stages. Jeanmonnot overcame two penalties to finish 53.1 seconds back, while Hristova completed the race 1:04.5 behind the winner.
Germany’s Vanessa Voigt also hit all twenty targets but finished fourth. Dorothea Wierer placed fifth and Camille Bened sixth, leaving France with three athletes among the top six in a race completed on hard tracks with light winds.
