Lorenzo Simonelli won the men’s 60m hurdles at Modena’s indoor meeting in 7.60, improving on a 7.65 heat earlier in the session. The European 110m hurdles champion completed the two rounds within approximately thirty minutes at the venue’s indoor straight.

Simonelli finished ahead of Italian under-23 champion Vittorio Ghedina, who ran 7.95, and Hassane Fofana on 8.01. FIDAL reported that Simonelli struck the second hurdle in the final but still reduced his heat time by five hundredths.

The result remained one tenth outside the 7.50 seasonal best he had achieved in Madrid eight days earlier. In the women’s competition, Elena Carraro improved her personal best to 8.15, lowering her previous mark by two hundredths.
