Snowfall moves Olympic women’s halfpipe final to Sunday
The evening competition was rescheduled as crews could not prepare a safe course.
Source publication date:
Heavy snowfall forced the Olympic women’s freeski halfpipe final in Livigno to move from Saturday evening to Sunday, 22 February. The event had been scheduled to begin at 19:30, but officials called it off for the night at approximately 17:00.
Persistent snow throughout Saturday prevented course crews from preparing the halfpipe to the standard required for safe and fair competition. FIS confirmed the postponement and the replacement time before any Saturday final result was produced.
The revised final was scheduled from 10:40 to 12:15 Central European Time on Sunday. That change placed the women’s halfpipe competition as the last Milano Cortina Olympic event scheduled at Livigno Snow Park, following the venue’s other winter disciplines.
