Sobhy leads successful seeds in Chicago evening session
The American joined Weaver, Coll and Orfi in advancing from the Windy City opening round.

Amanda Sobhy defeated Sana Ibrahim in straight games during the Windy City Open’s opening evening session. The American recovered from 9–7 down in the first game before taking the next two comfortably, advancing in front of the home crowd at the University Club of Chicago.
Olivia Weaver and Paul Coll also won in straight games against Grace Gear and Leonel Cardenas. Mohamed Abouelghar defeated Nathan Lake in four games, while Mohamed Elshorbagy progressed against Auguste Dussourd.
Amina Orfi beat Lucy Turmel and Nour ElSherbini defeated Hollie Naughton. Salma Hany needed a five-game recovery against Ka Yi Lee, overturning a two-games-to-one deficit to join the successful seeded players in the second round.
