Sobhy maintains Chicago quarterfinal sequence

Amanda Sobhy reached a sixth consecutive Windy City Open quarterfinal by defeating Satomi Watanabe in four games. The American won the opener, lost the second and regained control with accurate attacking play to advance during the second-round afternoon session in Chicago.
Amina Orfi also needed four games against Marina Stefanoni after dropping the opening game. Orfi improved her pace and court coverage to take the next three, maintaining the second seed’s progress into the last eight.
Mohamed Elshorbagy defeated Baptiste Masotti in straight games for an eleventh consecutive win against the Frenchman. Paul Coll beat Eain Yow Ng by the same margin, joining the quarterfinal field after a controlled forty-nine-minute performance.
