South Tyrol celebrates athletes and plans youth support team
Bolzano’s regional ceremony previews a programme for 37 athletes from sixteen clubs.

South Tyrol’s athletics committee celebrated the 2025 season at Casa dello Sport in Bolzano. The awards recognised athletes and clubs successful at national level, with regional president Paolo Valt joined by vice-president Franco Cubich and technical coordinator Karl Schopf.
Athletes attending included European under-23 triple jump bronze medallist Federico Bruno, Italian senior steeplechase bronze medallist Katja Pattis and junior long jump silver medallist Maximilian Springeth. Johanna Herbst and Frederic and Stephanie Schopf also joined the celebration.
The committee announced a 24 April presentation for Youth Elite Team 2026. The programme will support 37 selected athletes from sixteen provincial clubs, providing access to professionals in physiotherapy, nutrition and mental coaching as part of its work with promising young competitors.
