Source publication date:
Spain defeated Hungary 7-1 in a women’s under-17 European qualifier in Portugal. The Spanish team controlled possession and tempo from the outset, building a four-goal halftime lead while Hungarian goalkeeper Olívia Galambvári made several important saves against sustained pressure.
Laia Cabetas opened the scoring, followed by Ángela Gálvez and Avril Serrano, with an own goal adding the fourth. Rocío Elaine scored early in the second half before Stefánia Veres finished a Hungarian counterattack to provide the team’s reply.
Gálvez and Elaine both scored again to complete the Spanish total. Hungary remained third ahead of its final meeting with Kosovo. Coach László Makrai acknowledged the score but identified improvements in possession and attacking play compared with the team’s previous qualifying performances.
