Squash confirms five Olympic qualification routes
The IOC-approved system will allocate sixteen places per gender for the sport’s LA28 debut.
Source publication date:
World Squash announced the LA28 Olympic qualification system after approval by the IOC Executive Board on 1 February in Milan. The sport’s first Olympic competition will feature sixteen-player men’s and women’s singles draws at the Comcast Squash Center at Universal Studios.
Five athletes per gender will qualify through Continental Games, while eight places per gender are linked to the PSA rankings. The host-country quota and a universality place provide additional routes, each subject to the conditions set out in the system.
The final place per gender will be decided through a 24-player qualification tournament on 6–10 June 2028. The framework was developed by World Squash and PSA to balance sporting strength with national representation.
