Steel City Open prepares a 24-player Silver field
Watanabe leads the draw as Sobhy and Kennedy arrive after the Cincinnati final.

The Steel City Open prepared to welcome 24 players to Pittsburgh for a Silver-level PSA tournament. Opening matches were scheduled for 25 February at Steel City Squash Club, with Satomi Watanabe leading the seeds and recent Cincinnati finalists Amanda Sobhy and Georgina Kennedy among the contenders.
Sobhy arrived after winning her 23rd PSA title, while Kennedy entered as the second seed. The draw created the possibility of another meeting between them in the semifinals if both progressed through their sections of the field.
Rowan Elaraby was due to make her first appearance since a serious injury at the previous World Championships. Jasmine Hutton, Melissa Alves and Sabrina Sobhy completed the other leading entry positions.
