Strand and Wollan Benum win junior classic distance golds
Norway took both ten-kilometre titles as Bucher completed a three-medal collection.

Leopold Strand and Ingrid Wollan Benum won Norway’s two gold medals in the junior ten-kilometre classic races at Lillehammer. Strand controlled the early stages before accelerating on the second lap, extending an intermediate advantage of 9.3 seconds into a winning margin of 29.6 over Daniel Pedranzini.
Torjus Magnus Harbo took men’s bronze, 32.2 seconds behind. The eighteen-year-old champion raced with Petter Northug’s team and demonstrated the value of a measured first lap before committing to his decisive attack over the closing climbs and technical sections.
Wollan Benum won on her first junior championship appearance, leading from the 2.6-kilometre checkpoint. Heidi Bucher finished 28.6 seconds back for silver, completing a gold, silver and bronze collection across three events. Tove Norgren claimed bronze.
