Su and Fukada win Olympic snowboard slopestyle titles
China won men’s gold while Japan took first and third in the women’s final.

Su Yiming won Olympic men’s snowboard slopestyle on his twenty-second birthday, delivering China’s first gold of Milano Cortina. Taiga Hasegawa won silver for Japan and American Jake Canter took bronze as the snowboard programme concluded in Livigno.
Mari Fukada won the women’s event on her Olympic debut, taking the lead on her second run and improving again on her final attempt. Zoi Sadowski-Synnott claimed silver for New Zealand, and Japan’s Kokomo Murase won bronze.
Sadowski-Synnott’s second silver of the Games made her the most decorated Olympic snowboarder. Japan finished at the top of the snowboard medal standings with nine medals, including four golds, after its athletes reached both slopestyle podiums.
