Succo improves world under-18 hurdles best to 8.05
The Italian youth championships also saw Giardiello break the national 1500m mark.
Source publication date:
Alessia Succo improved her world under-18 60m hurdles best to 8.05 at the Italian youth indoor championships in Ancona. The seventeen-year-old lowered the 8.07 performance she recorded at the same venue in February 2025 by two hundredths.
FIDAL reported the result as another step towards the European Under-18 Championships in Rieti. Succo, who had already won European under-20 bronze against older opponents, described the national meeting as an important chance to compete over the lower youth hurdles.
Federico Giardiello also set an Italian under-18 1500m record of 3:55.51, improving Manuel Zanini’s 2023 mark. Asia Prenzato completed an 800m and 1500m double, winning the longer race in a personal best of 4:25.94.
