Suwon FC Women defeated Wuhan Jiangda 4-0 in the AFC Women’s Champions League quarter-finals, ending the Chinese club’s title defence. The Korean side reached the last four for the first time and earned a meeting with tournament newcomers Naegohyang.
Wuhan threatened early, but Ji So-yun opened the scoring after Choe Yu-ri’s pass found her unmarked. The hosts had a potential equaliser ruled out for offside before Haruhi Suzuki doubled Suwon’s lead with a close-range finish.
Kim Hye-ri, a member of Wuhan’s championship squad the previous season, headed in Suwon’s third shortly after half-time. Wuhan continued to attack without finding a reply, and Jeon Min-ji completed the scoring in added time to seal an emphatic victory.
