Sweden defeated France 4–0 to secure an Olympic women’s hockey quarter-final berth after three consecutive regulation wins. Three first-period goals established the advantage and left the Olympic newcomers unable to recover as their hopes of reaching the knockout stage ended.

Sara Hjalmarsson and Hanna Thuvik each scored and assisted, while Thea Johansson and Lisa Johansson supplied the other goals. Hilda Svensson and Hanna Olsson contributed two assists apiece, and Emma Soderberg recorded a shutout in her first appearance of the Milan tournament.

Sweden finished with a 49–14 advantage in shots and retained first place in group B. France had conceded fourteen goals and scored twice across its first three games, leaving one further match against Germany as its final opportunity to record an Olympic victory.
