Sweden defeated Japan 4–0 to complete Olympic women’s hockey group B with four wins from four games. The result confirmed first place for the Swedes and ended Japan’s tournament with one victory and three defeats in its preliminary schedule.

Josefin Bouveng contributed a goal and an assist, while Hanna Thuvik, Mira Hallin and Hanna Olsson also scored. Maja Nylen Persson supplied two assists, and Ebba Svensson Traff earned her first Olympic shutout as Sweden finished with a 31–20 shot advantage.

The Swedish players welcomed maintaining their collective standards through the final group game. Their quarter-final opponent would come from the third-place team in group A, with captain Anna Kjellbin noting familiarity with both potential opponents, Czechia and Switzerland, from recent international competition.
