The Polish player announced the decision after her Miami opening defeat.
Source publication date:
Iga Swiatek announced that she had ended her coaching partnership with Wim Fissette after a second-round Miami Open loss. The world number three said she had decided to take a different path while retaining the other members of her team.
Fissette joined in October 2024 after Swiatek’s three-year partnership with Tomasz Wiktorowski ended. Their 2025 season included her first Wimbledon title, a sixth Grand Slam singles championship, alongside tournament victories in Cincinnati and Seoul during a productive but demanding year.
Both issued statements acknowledging shared achievements and lessons. Swiatek’s defeat to Magda Linette had ended a seventy-three-match winning streak in opening matches. Her next scheduled appearance was Stuttgart in mid-April, where she had previously won the title in 2022 and 2023.
