Sandra Flunger resigned as Switzerland’s biathlon head coach after eight years, while Armin Auchentaller stepped down from the equivalent American role. The International Biathlon Union reported both departures as national programmes considered their next coaching arrangements following the Olympic season.

Switzerland achieved its first women’s relay podiums under Flunger, along with a World Cup single mixed relay victory and several individual podium finishes. She described the need for fresh approaches for both herself and the team after her extended tenure.

Auchentaller spent thirteen years with the American programme across two periods. Recent achievements included Campbell Wright’s two medals at the 2025 World Championships and the United States’ first World Cup mixed relay podium in Otepää.
