The NBL announced opening playoff dates for regular-season champion Sydney and second-placed Adelaide. The 36ers were scheduled to begin at Adelaide Entertainment Centre on 10 March, followed by Sydney’s first home game at Qudos Bank Arena on 11 March.
Adelaide’s opponent would be the winner of the seeding qualifier between South East Melbourne and Perth, scheduled for 4 March at John Cain Arena. Sydney would face the winner of the subsequent play-in game on 7 March.
The league also identified 18 March as the date for a possible third game in Sydney’s series, if required. The February schedule announcement gave both directly qualified clubs and supporters confirmed dates while the remaining postseason positions were still to be settled.
