Table tennis joins 2027 European Para Championships
ETTU confirmed its first continental para championship responsibility within Geneva’s multisport programme.
Source publication date:
ETTU confirmed that table tennis will be included in the 2027 European Para Championships in Geneva. The multisport event was scheduled for 2–15 August, with the decision bringing the federation’s forthcoming continental para competition into a shared championship programme.
The move followed ITTF’s decision to entrust continental organisations with staging their own para table tennis championships. The Geneva edition will therefore be the first such European championship organised under ETTU’s responsibility.
ETTU’s executive board approved inclusion after discussions with the organising committee. The European Para Championships began in 2023 and operates on a four-year cycle, assembling several sports in one host city and giving table tennis athletes a place within that broader event.
