Source publication date:
New Zealand named a 12-player Tall Blacks squad for World Cup qualifiers in Manila and Guam, including six members of the Ignite Cup-winning Breakers. The selection contained ten current NBL players and gave Adelaide’s Keanu Rasmussen his first senior national call-up.
Reuben Te Rangi, Sam Mennenga, Carlin Davison, Taylor Britt, Alex McNaught and Max Darling represented the Breakers contingent. Tyrell Harrison, Tohi Smith-Milner and Taine Murray were also selected, alongside Japan-based Yanni Wetzell and Jordan Ngatai.
Judd Flavell was named to coach the team after New Zealand’s two opening qualifying defeats by Australia. The next programme placed the Philippines match on 27 February and the Guam fixture on 1 March, continuing the route toward the 2027 World Cup.
