Tarnobrzeg established a 3–1 away advantage against Etival Clairefontaine in the opening women’s Champions League quarterfinal encounter. The Polish club moved within reach of qualification before the home return, with He Zhuojia winning twice in a tie that included one five-game contest.

Han Ying recovered from losing the first game against Christina Kallberg to give Tarnobrzeg the initial point. He then defeated Jieni Shao in straight games, putting the visitors two matches ahead early in the evening.

Liu Yangzi kept Etival in contention by overcoming Yang Xiaoxin in five games. He returned to beat Kallberg 3–0 and finish the encounter, leaving the French club needing a substantial turnaround in the second leg.
