Julia Taubitz won the women’s Luge World Cup race in St. Moritz and returned to the overall lead. Her total of 1:48.144 gave the German a thirty-second career World Cup victory after she had stood fifth following the opening run.

Taubitz recorded the fastest second run in 53.864 seconds. Merle Fräbel finished second, 0.121 seconds behind, while Italy’s Verena Hofer took third. First-run leader Sandra Robatscher slipped to fourth after failing to match her opening performance.

The result moved Taubitz to 549 points in the overall standings, ahead of Fräbel on 530 and previous leader Lisa Schulte on 498. Schulte finished eleventh, while Hannah Prock withdrew after undergoing an appendectomy earlier in the week.
