Temoi breaks RomaOstia half-marathon course record

Kenyan winners Michael Temoi and Janet Mutungi led the fifty-first edition.

Michael Temoi won the RomaOstia Half Marathon in a course record of 58:00. The Kenyan accelerated around the fifteenth kilometre and improved Sabastian Sawe’s 2022 mark by two seconds on the route from Rome’s EUR district towards the coast.

James Kipkoech Kipkogei finished second in 58:39 and Peter Kibenei Tuitoek third in 59:05, completing a Kenyan podium. Giuseppe Gerratana was the leading Italian in thirteenth place, recording 1:04:25.

Janet Mutungi won the women’s race in 1:08:11 after making her decisive move in the second half. Caren Chebet took second in 1:09:22 and Catherine Peiyoy third in 1:09:56. Laura Biagetti finished sixth as the first Italian woman in 1:13:56.
