Ten-man Forest preserve a point against Palace
Sarr’s penalty cancelled Gibbs-White’s early opener at the City Ground.
Source publication date:
Nottingham Forest held Crystal Palace to a 1-1 draw after Neco Williams’ dismissal left them defending with ten men. The home side moved six points clear of the relegation places, while Palace’s winless Premier League sequence reached nine matches.
Morgan Gibbs-White had put Forest ahead after five minutes, controlling a loose clearance following a long throw and finishing past Dean Henderson. Williams then used his arm to stop Jefferson Lerma’s header on the goal line just before the interval.
Ismaila Sarr converted the resulting penalty in first-half stoppage time. Palace could not turn their numerical advantage into another goal after the break, leaving Forest seventeenth and Palace fourteenth when the match ended.
