Thailand rallies past India to win women’s group
Japan and Korea also finished top of their Asian team groups in Qingdao.

Thailand recovered from 2-0 down to defeat India 3-2 and win Group Y of the women’s Badminton Asia Team Championships. The defending champions took the opening singles and doubles points before the Thai team reversed the tie during the group-stage finale in Qingdao.
Pitchamon Opatniputh began the recovery in the second singles match. Hathaithip Mijad and Napapakorn Tungkasatan levelled through the second doubles, before Pornpicha Choeikeewong delivered the deciding singles point to secure Thailand’s victory and the group lead.
Japan defeated Indonesia 3-2 to finish first in Group X. Korea won Group Z with a 4-1 result against Chinese Taipei, led by An Se-young’s straight-games success in the opening singles encounter.
