Sam Osborne-Wylde, Shahjahan Khan and David Bernet upset seeded opponents in the McMillan Goodfellow Classic second round. Their victories reshaped the quarterfinal lineup at the Copper event in Toronto, while the four leading seeds all remained in the competition.

Osborne-Wylde defeated Rory Stewart 3-1, closing the fourth game 11-2. Khan beat Adrian Waller in four games, and Bernet recovered from losing the opener to defeat Balazs Farkas 10-12, 11-5, 11-9, 11-4.

Top seed Greg Lobban required 82 minutes to overcome Ivan Perez in four games. Miguel Rodriguez, Toufik Mekhalfi, Yahya Elnawasany and Mohamed ElSherbini also advanced, completing the last-eight field before the scheduled quarterfinal programme.
