Tommy Marques makes Barcelona first-team debut
The academy midfielder came on late to join Bernal and Casado.
Source publication date:
Tommy Marques made his official Barcelona first-team debut, replacing Fermin Lopez in the 84th minute. His introduction produced a midfield made entirely of La Masia graduates, with Marc Bernal and Marc Casado alongside the youngster during the closing stages.
Born in Barcelona in October 2006, Marques joined the club from CE Europa in 2015. His development included a loan at CF Damm before he returned to Barcelona’s youth structure and helped the youth side win three trophies during the following campaign.
He progressed to Barca Atletic after extending his contract and made his reserve-team debut in September. Fifteen reserve appearances and a series of first-team call-ups preceded his senior breakthrough under Hansi Flick.
