Hartlepool United appointed Tommy Miller as under-16 head coach, bringing a former academy graduate back to the club. Miller holds a UEFA A licence and arrived with more than twelve years of coaching experience following a long professional playing career.

He made over 150 Hartlepool appearances across two spells before and after an initial move to Ipswich for a club-record fee. His career also included Premier League football with Ipswich and Sunderland and further experience across the Football League.

Academy manager Alex Cross said Miller's knowledge would help young players progress. Damian Shanahan remained assistant head coach, supporting the under-16 group as its players prepared to move towards full-time football with the under-17 youth team in 2026/27.
