Tasmania JackJumpers and Jewels appointed Trent Jacobs as chief executive following a national recruitment process. The incoming leader was scheduled to begin on 7 April, bringing more than two decades of experience across professional sport and a digital growth business.

Executive chair Steve Old identified several immediate milestones: opening a high-performance training centre, launching the Jewels in the WNBL and beginning the JackJumpers' sixth NBL season. He cited Jacobs' commercial background and sporting leadership as relevant to those developments.

Jacobs previously served as Melbourne Victory chief executive and held executive roles at Richmond Football Club, alongside work at Sports Cloud Australia. He said the Tasmanian organisation's identity and community connection attracted him to the role and planned to relocate with his family.
