Tschofenig wins second Lahti individual competition
The Austrian finished six tenths ahead of Prevc after a strong final jump.
Source publication date:
Daniel Tschofenig won the second men’s individual World Cup in Lahti with 299.4 points, earning his third victory of the season. A final jump of 129.5 metres lifted the Austrian from second at halfway and gave him an eleventh career World Cup win.
Domen Prevc finished second on 298.8 points, recovering from the equipment disqualification that had removed his previous day’s result. Opening-round leader Ryoyu Kobayashi took third with 296.2 after being unable to match Tschofenig’s decisive second effort on the Finnish hill.
Friday’s winner Philipp Raimund placed fourth, while Isak Andreas Langmo rose seven positions for a career-best seventh. The individual race completed two days of men’s solo competition before the weekend’s distinct Super Team event brought the Lahti programme to a close.
