Thomas Tuchel named thirty-five players for England's March international window, choosing an enlarged group for World Cup preparation matches against Uruguay and Japan. Players would report in two stages, allowing the coach to assess different combinations while managing the demands of the club season.

Everton midfielder James Garner earned his first senior selection. Brighton goalkeeper Jason Steele was included with a possible summer training role in mind, while Manchester United players Kobbie Mainoo and Harry Maguire returned to the national-team group.

The selections also brought back Newcastle's Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento after their autumn injury absences. Fikayo Tomori added a further defensive option, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin received his first England call-up in five years alongside Tottenham forward Dominic Solanke.
