The UCI Management Committee agreed to consult professional road cycling stakeholders about the sport’s future organisational and economic model. Meeting in Beveren on 29 and 30 January, it invited input from rider, team and organiser associations and individual participants.

The discussions will cover calendars, race formats, broadcasting, international expansion, sustainability and the distribution of resources through cycling. The federation said it would use the responses to guide further discussions with stakeholders and relevant partners.

Other decisions included a call for interest in protective cycling airbags and a larger solidarity budget. The committee allocated CHF32 million to solidarity and World Cycling Centre activity for 2026–2029, an increase of 7.3 percent from the previous cycle.
