UK Sport and the Institute Group confirmed on 16 April 2026 that Mike Cavendish had been appointed Managing Director of the UK Sports Institute.
The UK Sports Institute supports high-performance sport. Leadership appointments therefore belong in coverage of sporting institutions as well as competition results.
