The United States defeated Switzerland 5–0 to reach three wins from three games in Olympic women’s hockey group A. The Americans pulled away during the third period, maintaining a perfect start before their final preliminary meeting with defending champions Canada.
Caroline Harvey and Joy Dunne each contributed a goal and two assists. Alex Carpenter scored and assisted, while Haley Winn and Hannah Bilka registered their first Olympic goals. Captain Hilary Knight added two assists to reach thirty-one career Olympic points.
Gwyneth Philips made her Olympic debut in goal and completed the shutout. Switzerland remained without a goal against the Americans across four Olympic meetings, but its players identified stretches of useful pressure and adherence to the game plan as positives despite another decisive defeat.
