Colombia finished their SheBelieves Cup campaign with a 1-0 defeat to the United States. Alyssa Thompson scored the decisive goal after receiving a pass in the penalty area, settling a game in which Colombia created several opportunities against the tournament hosts.
The Colombian side began with an aggressive press before the United States established greater possession. Manuela Vanegas went close from a set piece, while a move involving Linda Caicedo and Leicy Santos released Maithe López, whose control allowed Phallon Tullis-Joyce to collect.
Katherine Tapia started in Colombia’s goal, with Daniela Arias, Jorelyn Carabalí and Vanegas among the defensive selections. The match concluded the team’s participation in the tournament, following earlier fixtures against Canada and Argentina during the March international programme.
