United States recover to defeat Denmark in Olympic group C

The United States defeated Denmark 6–3 after recovering from an opening-period deficit in Olympic men’s hockey group C. A three-goal second period reversed the direction of the match and helped the Americans maintain their winning start to the tournament.
Jack Eichel scored and assisted, while Noah Hanifin supplied the goal that ultimately proved decisive. Denmark goalkeeper Mads Sogaard made thirty-three saves. The Danes twice led in the opening period through Nick Olesen and Nicholas Jensen before the American response took control.
Jake Guentzel restored a two-goal advantage in the third period and Jack Hughes completed the scoring. Both teams faced another preliminary game on the following day, with the United States due to meet Germany and Denmark preparing for Latvia after another competitive performance ended in defeat.
